As a single mother, an entrepreneur, business mentor and empowerment coach, Eva is dedicated to empowering clients to make their vision a reality.
With an academic background in Business Psychology (MSc) and training in Neuroscience (NeuroLeadership Institute), Eva is equipped with the tools needed to bring deep-diving psychological, scientific and brain-based approaches to her coaching practices.
As well as working with a diverse array of business leaders, artists, creatives and start-ups, she has brought her expertise to the next generation of thought leaders as guest professor at the University of West London. Further successful collaborations have seen her provide insight to Soho House and Muses of Now, and her work has been featured in publications including Vogue Business.
Who are you, what do you do, and what were you doing before your current work?
My name is Eva, as an Empowerment, Career and Business Coach I work with my clients on transforming limiting beliefs and overwhelm into actionable steps, so they can achieve beyond what they thought is possible for them. I guide them to analyse their thought patterns, beliefs and attitudes so they understand what holds them back and introduce them to thinking models that enable them to transform in a sustainable way through a mindset shift.
How did you get involved in your current work?
I have a Master in Business Psychology (MSc) and further training in Neuroscience at the NeuroLeadership Institute. For the majority of my career I’ve worked closely with founders and CEO’s of early stage companies. This has led me to organically transition into
consulting and coaching entrepreneurs, small business owners, artists and visionary creatives. It was very organic.
What's the most significant revelation you've had as a mentor/ coach?
It happens every time when my clients are experiencing a transformation, a mindset shift or a breakthrough. Then the seemingly impossible becomes possible.
Has motherhood changed your business, and how do you balance motherhood and work?
Yes, absolutely. My priorities and my values have shifted. Motherhood has empowered me to become a stronger version of myself and to reach even higher. I’m wondering if there is such a thing as balance. It’s about integrating everything and it’s about staying flexible, curious and creative. I remember for instance when my son was a few weeks old and I was coaching my clients online whilst breastfeeding. There was a client I had in Berlin that wanted to see me in person and we went for walking coaching sessions whilst my son was sleeping in the stroller. I had no family and zero support around so I had to figure out how to integrate it all.
What advice would you give your younger self with your current professional knowledge?
I would tell my younger self how insignificant it is what others think of you. I mean it in a genuine way, to not get occupied by the opinion of others to the extent that it blurs our vision, our values, our intuition and what we stand for.
A fact and a myth within your expertise?
A fact is that our brain has an enormous potential to change by altering and strengthening connections through experience. The use of particular brain pathways strengthens those pathways. This is thought to be the major way our brain learns and that’s how we can overcome mental blocks, limiting beliefs and challenges. Through my mentoring and coaching I empower my clients to take action beyond their comfort zone which leads to new experiences. This is the fastest way to create new pathways in our brain.
There are a lot of myths connected to self development solutions that work for everyone. There is no such a thing as a “one fits all solution” - what works for one person might not work for another. And just because an approach was right for us in the past doesn’t mean it’s the right approach now. The key to finding out what truly works for us is self reflection.
A mantra/ quote?
“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
The product or service you are most proud of and why?
I recently launched my 6-Month Coaching Program which is a high-level coaching program that requires a high level of commitment to consistent action taking. At the heart of this program is the consistent demonstration of reliability and integrity within oneself to create a solid foundation of self-trust.
I am also crazy excited to connect in person through workshops, talks and retreats next year. I can already announce that my first workshop will take place in Amsterdam January 19th at Newhouse Gallery by Mick Nieuwenhuis. It’s an interactive workshop experience called ‘Design your mindset for 2025’ in collaboration with Soesja Leugs (founder of The Tiny Muse) and artist Nanda Hagenaars.
And not a product or service but a new section on my website called Community is making me proud, inspired and excited as I get to introduce and celebrate the talented women I get to work with.
How can the muses find you?
My website is byevadixon.com and my new Instagram account is @evaisabelladixon.
