As we dive into the gentle embrace of autumn, we’re reminded of the season’s invitation to slow down.
With summer’s frenetic energy behind us, fall offers a chance to reconnect with what truly matters—home, family, and self-reflection. Autumn isn’t just a change in the weather; it’s a transformative flow that encourages us to cleanse both physically and spiritually. For me, this season revealed itself in unexpected ways.
Physical Renewal
The familiar urge to declutter and refresh my living space sweeps over me. Suddenly, tackling household projects feels like a rewarding dance of creation. On a more personal note, a virus and an eye infection early in the season prompted me to reevaluate my self-care practices. It’s a stark reminder to nourish not just my body, but my spirit.
Spiritual Awakening
Illness may come with the season, but it also serves as a spiritual call to examine where our energy leaks. How can we weave more self-love and tranquility into our lives? The slower pace of autumn nudges us to find that peace, forcing us to pause and reflect. In a world that often glorifies busyness, slowing down can be daunting, yet it has led me to profound growth and empowerment.
Each season carries its own wisdom, and autumn teaches us about cleansing and revisiting our foundations—be it our homes, bodies, or family connections. As the days grow shorter, we’re invited to turn inward. This is the perfect moment to explore new workshops, enroll in courses, or engage in therapy. Let’s embrace the unknown together.
As Percy Bysshe Shelley beautifully expressed, “There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky. In this quietude, we can find inspiration that eluded us in the summer’s bustle.”
Tips for this season
Go and do things without any pressure. Call it a hobby and do it for the sake of fun!
Reconnect with your inner world through play and activities you loved to do when you we're young.
Get those things off the checklist! Start with an easy one and work your way up through succes experiences and pure satisfaction.
Create a folder in instagram or pinterest with quick, nourishing meals to get inspired. It's also such a life hack to have some options in there for when your own inspiration runs out. We're all a bit slower in autumn so after a long day it doesn't always rain inspiration.
Call the doctor, therapist, your homeopath, manual therapist, brainspotter, healer of whoever helps you heal yourself. This is the season for healing so go and get your needs met on this department (calling my massage therapist while I write this).
Cozy home date's. Dinner party's, vision board afternoon with friends, arts and crafts with the kids and movie nights always do well in autumn.
While autumn invites peace, try to integrate small moments of self love through the tools you have in your toolbox to calm the nervous system. I love to take baths with little witch brews containing Calendula, salt, magnesium, castor oil and so on. Personalize it to your taste, but creating space for these nourishing moments is the exact thing I mean with "Harvesting Peace".
So cuddle up and let the magic of the darker days in, while you harvest peace and power through working with the blueprint of autumn.
